Practical development for the situations leaders face.
Pivot Point works with organizational sponsors and participants to identify useful development priorities, understand the behavior occurring in real situations, and practice responses that are within the participant's influence.
The work can be individual or shared across a small group.
Discuss a leadership need ↗1:1 leadership coaching
Focused individual coaching can be appropriate when one manager or emerging leader is working through a specific responsibility, communication pattern or change in role.
We begin with a shared understanding of the purpose, then develop a practical plan for the individual to try, observe and refine in their actual work.
A coaching engagement may include:
- An initial sponsor and participant conversation to establish goals and fit.
- One-to-one sessions examining recurring situations and possible responses.
- Between-session behavioral practice, reflection and adjustments.
- An agreed closing review, with confidentiality boundaries set in advance.
Small-group leadership development
When several managers share a developmental priority, a facilitated series can create opportunities to learn together, practice with peers and apply ideas between sessions.
Group size, session design and the sponsor's purpose are established during scoping. A small-group series can combine facilitated sessions, shared exercises, work-based practice and an end-of-series review.
Discuss group development ↗See the pattern. Try a different response.
Development becomes more useful when it is connected to a specific working situation.
The focus is on what the participant can practice, notice and adjust in real working situations.
Begin with the developmental need.
A sponsor may know something needs attention without knowing whether one-to-one support, a group series or a single workshop is appropriate.
An initial conversation helps identify the purpose, who should participate, what has already been tried and what useful progress would look like.
Let's Talk ↗Clarity creates room to grow.
We begin by aligning on the developmental purpose, the people involved, and what meaningful progress would look like. Participants have space to explore their experiences and practice new approaches, while organizational sponsors stay connected to the shared goals.
